Business Operations- Retail Chain, i like this topic very much. This helps to understand the Process behind the Business and also to understand the Business Terms. The Gift Registery System said by Maruthu, who presented this, is new to me. I like to have these kind of Seminars. I thank Maruthu for arranging this.

This session by Maruthu was a revelation of sorts as I came to know a lot about what happens behind the scenes. I came out with a feeling that there is a lot more that we can extract out of Maruthu (with his vast experience) which will help us to better understand how the business requirement would get transformed to the actual Datawarehouse. So, looking forward to more such sessions.

Maruthu gave us a clear picture on Business process of retail chain with lot of examples and real time scenarios.
I hope we have frequent sessions on Business operations.

I wanted to attend the session but i got hooked up with other high priority task. I think we need to have sessions on the trends of Business Intelligence in the industry now cos there is a spectrum of Business Intelligence that we need to focus upon. Guess what am I talking about, the concept where business and technology blends. I mean, the architecture that has to be followed for a particular set of business. As far as my knowledge, there are no theoritical model of architecting for particular type of business. But my question is can we have a basic architectural framework for an industry over which we incorporate their business logics.
Guyz, I am not talking about Staging, ODS but about the functional design of the warehouse. I know its difficult to build a generic model, but the basic functionality remains the same throughout all the clients in the business

I really wanted to attend this session, but I got hooked up with some other high priority task. Why cant we have brainstorming sessions on trends of DW and BI. That would help us to understand the domain much better? More-over It would be helpful for us to have a session on blending the business and technology. Do we have generalized models for various business operations like Retail, Pharma, Insurance etc. I know its very difficult to have a generalized model but we develop a basic frame work on which we embed the customized requirements.
